Hyatt Vacation Club at Piñon Pointe, formerly the Hyatt Residence Club, gives you apartment-style space in the most convenient spot in Sedona. It sits on the rise at 1 North SR 89A, right at the Y where SR 89A and SR 179 meet, on high ground above the creek, with the Shops at Piñon Pointe next door, Gallery Row and the Sedona Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center a minute or two away on foot, and Tlaquepaque roughly a ten-minute walk down the hill. Accommodations are residential in style: studios with a kitchenette, and one- and two-bedroom villas with a fully equipped kitchen and a separate living area, many with red rock views and some with a fireplace and private patio or balcony. That makes it a strong choice for families, friends traveling together and anyone staying long enough to want breakfast at home and a living room in the evening. Shared facilities include a heated outdoor pool with views of the cliffs, hot tubs, a 24-hour fitness center, a tennis court, grills and a fire pit, and self-parking is free. Wildflower Bread Company in the neighboring shopping center serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Things to know: a daily resort fee applies, pets are not allowed, the minimum check-in age is 21, and as a vacation-club property, the vibe is more condo than full-service hotel, with no on-site restaurant of its own. On busy weekends the lot can be tight and the Y roundabouts congested.

Why stay here. Location is the headline. You can walk to coffee, galleries and the Visitor Center in minutes, stroll to Tlaquepaque for dinner, and reach the SR 179 corridor and the Chapel of the Holy Cross, Bell Rock and the Cathedral Rock shuttle quickly by car, without fighting Uptown parking. The kitchens and living space turn a hotel stay into a home base, which saves money on longer trips and makes evenings with children much easier.

Room strategy. Choose a one- or two-bedroom villa if you want a full kitchen and real separation between sleeping and living space; studios work for couples on short stays. Ask for a red rock view, which varies by unit, and for a fireplace if traveling in winter. Pick up groceries before check-in, and take advantage of the grills and fire pit on mild evenings.

Flood and access note. The resort sits on higher ground at the Y, not on the creek bank, and it was not among the properties named in the November 1, 2026 evacuation notices, which covered streets and resorts directly along Oak Creek below Uptown. Storms can still disrupt traffic at the Y and on SR 89A, so check road conditions on travel days. Fit: families, groups and first-time visitors who value walkability and space over resort pampering. For a first trip, the location is hard to beat: you can join a jeep tour from Uptown in the morning, walk to Tlaquepaque for lunch under the sycamores, swim in the afternoon with the cliffs glowing above the pool, and stroll to dinner without moving the car. Groups splitting a two-bedroom villa often find the per-person cost compares well with standard hotel rooms in town.
