The Wilde Resort and Spa is the playful, wellness-minded boutique in West Sedona, created when the former Sedona Rouge was renovated and relaunched in 2021. It sits on West SR 89A, close to the restaurants, grocery stores and trailheads of West Sedona, about ten minutes from Uptown and within easy reach of the Posse Grounds Park and Ride for the shuttle to Soldier Pass and Devil's Bridge. The resort has around a hundred rooms in three categories. Queen rooms in the Suncatcher and Grove styles have balconettes, garden patios or red rock views; king rooms add options with fireplaces or spa-side access in the Wilde Haven Spa retreat rooms; and the Grove King Suite offers a covered patio, kitchenette and two bathrooms. The food and drink scene is anchored by Rascal, an all-day American diner with a creative chef-driven menu and happy hours, plus a pool bar. Wilde Haven Spa is the resort's heart, a spa of around 5,000 square feet offering massage, bodywork, facials, couples' treatments, meditation, wellness classes and sound-bowl healing, with outdoor hot tubs. The Rangeview Rooftop terrace delivers views of the red rocks by day and dark skies by night, and the grounds include a heated pool, deep-soak hot tubs, fire pits and a labyrinth. The resort is pet-friendly, with a dog package. Rates are typically below Sedona's top luxury tier, and seasonal offers, such as midweek and winter discounts, can make it excellent value.
The transformation from Sedona Rouge to The Wilde brought a new personality: bohemian, relaxed and wellness-focused, with design touches that nod to the desert and the town's free-spirited reputation. The spa and its hot tubs are a big draw in winter, when Sedona's nights are crisp and the stars are bright, and the rooftop is one of the best places in West Sedona for sunset. Rascal gives the resort a neighborhood feel, attracting locals as well as guests.
How to use it. West Sedona is the practical side of town, with supermarkets, casual restaurants and quick access to the western trailheads — Devil's Bridge, Soldier Pass, Boynton Canyon and Fay Canyon are all a short drive away. Plan hiking mornings, spa afternoons and rooftop evenings. The resort's experiences program can arrange stargazing and other activities. If you are hiking Devil's Bridge, the Posse Grounds Park and Ride is just a few minutes away, so you can leave the car and ride the free shuttle.
Who should stay. Wellness travelers, couples and friends on a spa weekend, and value-conscious travelers who want a resort feel without luxury prices will enjoy The Wilde. Families can stay too, though the atmosphere leans grown-up. Travelers who want to walk to Uptown should choose Amara, and those wanting full luxury should look at Enchantment or Ambiente. But for a well-priced, characterful base close to the western trails, The Wilde is a strong pick, and its spa-plus-rooftop combination is one of Sedona's best-value indulgences.
