Avicii Experience

Tim Bergling's story in the heart of Stockholm

The Avicii Experience tells the story of Tim Bergling, who grew up in Stockholm, became one of the world's best-known DJs and producers as Avicii, and died in 2018. It sits inside the Space building at Sergelgatan, right by Sergels torg in the city centre, a few minutes from Central Station. The exhibition follows his life from a teenage bedroom producer to festival headliner, with photographs, personal objects, videos and a recreation of his bedroom studio. Interactive stations let you remix his tracks and listen to unreleased material. The exhibition also speaks openly about the pressures of fame and mental health, and it is supported by the foundation set up by his family. The Tiqets entry ticket is a simple timed entry, and the venue is open every day.

Who it suits: fans of electronic music, of course, but also visitors who enjoyed ABBA The Museum and want another chapter of Sweden's pop story. Some sections are emotional, which is part of its power.

How to visit: allow about an hour, more if you spend time in the remix booths. Visit early in the day for quieter booths.

Pairing: its central location makes it easy to combine with shopping in Norrmalm, the metro art at T-Centralen and a walk to City Hall or Gamla Stan.
