The aDLERS is Innsbruck’s most dramatic place to wake up. It occupies the upper floors of a tower directly beside the main station, and because almost nothing nearby is as tall, the views run all the way round: the Nordkette wall to the north, the Patscherkofel and the Stubai peaks to the south, and the old town roofs in between. There are 75 rooms and suites, finished in fine materials with a clean, contemporary design, and most room categories are sold by their panorama, from Panorama Classic to Panorama Deluxe. The social heart is the 12th floor, where the weitsicht restaurant serves modern regional and international cooking and the ADLERS Rooftop Bar stays open from breakfast until late, while in summer the open-air Havana Rooftop Bar on the 13th floor adds sunset cocktails. The spa on the 11th floor has a sauna, steam bath and massages, so you can warm up after a day in the snow with the mountains in front of you.
Location and getting around: the hotel is at Bruneckerstraße 1, next to the main station, so arriving by rail or on the airport bus could not be easier. The old town and the Golden Roof are a pleasant walk of around fifteen minutes through the centre, the Swarovski shuttle and most regional trains leave from the station on your doorstep, and trams and buses to Bergisel and the Hungerburgbahn stop close by. Public car parks and a garage are nearby for drivers.
Rooms: the rooms are designed to frame the view, with large windows, calm colours and quality fabrics. Ask for a high floor facing north if the Nordkette is what you want to see from bed; the south side looks to the Patscherkofel. Suites add space for families or longer stays, and cribs are available.
Who it suits: couples on a special weekend, design lovers, and anyone travelling by train who wants a stylish base with no luggage hauling. It also works well for winter visitors who want a spa after skiing.
Good to know: the award-winning breakfast buffet is served with panoramic views and includes regional cheeses, cold cuts and vegan options; check whether your rate includes it. Check-in is from 16:00 and check-out by 12:00, with reception open around the clock. The weitsicht restaurant serves lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Saturday, so book ahead for a window table. The Havana bar is seasonal, from May to September. Pets are welcome.
