★★★★★

Holston House Nashville, part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, is one of downtown's most characterful hotels, an Art Deco building from 1929 on 12 floors at 118 7th Avenue North. It has 191 rooms, was renovated in June 2025 and combines historic bones with a polished modern interior. The outdoor pool has sun loungers and runs from 8 am to 9:30 pm, with a poolside bar and a rooftop restaurant called Heirloom, while the ground-floor restaurant TENN serves seasonal American and Southern dishes and brunch. A speakeasy-style lounge has live music in the evening, and a complimentary Vinyl and Chill toast greets guests in the lobby. Guests rate the hotel about 9.2 out of 10 across more than 1,700 reviews.

The location is excellent: Broadway is two minutes on foot, Bridgestone Arena and the Ryman six, and the Music City Center and the Country Music Hall of Fame eleven, with Hattie B's, Prince's Hot Chicken, Shake Shack and several coffee shops within about four minutes. Reviewers say the hotel feels quieter than the main strip while remaining walkable to bars and restaurants. The Riverfront station is nine minutes away and the airport about seventeen minutes by car. If you are traveling with a pet, the hotel allows up to two pets at no pet fee.

Inside, rooms vary from compact king rooms of about 248 square feet to larger deluxe and two-queen rooms of 300 to 312 square feet, with free fast Wi-Fi, 50-inch TVs, coffee makers, blackout drapes, hypoallergenic bedding and designer toiletries. Reviewers praise the staff, often by name, the cleanliness, the beds, the gym with plenty of machines and the rooftop pool and bar, and they love the Art Deco character and the free cocktail and live music in the lobby. Minor notes include a coffee maker issue that staff resolved and the normal traffic and taxi activity of a downtown street.

Costs and policies. A nightly destination fee applies, valet is the only parking option and is charged per night with in and out privileges, and breakfast is paid. Cash is not accepted, a government-issued photo ID and a credit card are needed at check-in, check-in starts at 4 pm and the minimum age is 21. Checkout is by 11 am, and free cancellation is available on select rates. Holston House is a standout for couples, design lovers, pet owners and groups who want the energy of Broadway without sleeping on top of it. If you need a large family room or a self-parking garage, other hotels fit better; for an atmospheric downtown stay with a pool and live music, it is a strong pick.
