The Singapore Cable Car is two connected lines that together make the most scenic approach to Sentosa. The Mount Faber Line runs from Mount Faber, one of the highest points in the city, down through HarbourFront, where it passes through a tower above the waterfront, and across the Keppel Harbour channel to Sentosa, with the container port, the cruise centre and the island's resorts spread out below. Once on Sentosa, the Sentosa Line links stations across the island, including Siloso Point near Fort Siloso and the beaches, Imbiah Lookout near the Skyline Luge and SkyHelix, and the Sensoryscape stop at the island's centre. The SkyPass round-trip ticket covers both lines and also includes your Sentosa island admission, so you can ride in, use the Sentosa Line to hop around, and ride back out. The cabins are enclosed and air-conditioned enough for the short crossings, and the views are best on the Mount Faber Line, where the cable rises high above the water. It is not cheap compared with the Sentosa Express monorail, which costs a few dollars, or the free boardwalk, so think of it as a scenic attraction rather than transport. For most visitors, one direction is enough: ride the cable car over in the late afternoon and come back by monorail, or the reverse. The ideal plan starts at Mount Faber, where there are good views and the Faber Peak restaurants, then crosses to Sentosa for the beaches at sunset, the Sensoryscape walk and a monorail back to VivoCity after dark.
How to ride it. To start at the top, take a taxi up Mount Faber, or walk up from HarbourFront on the forest trails of Mount Faber Park, which takes about 20 to 30 minutes and links to the Southern Ridges. Alternatively, board at HarbourFront Tower 2, next to HarbourFront MRT and VivoCity, which cuts out the Mount Faber section. On Sentosa, use the Sentosa Line rather than walking between Siloso and Imbiah; it saves effort in the heat and gives another set of views over the beaches and the sea.
Tickets from Tiqets are smartphone vouchers that you exchange at a cable car counter before boarding, with free cancellation up to shortly before your visit. The network runs from morning into the evening, and evening rides offer city and port lights. Both lines close for scheduled maintenance from time to time (each closed for about a week in September 2026), so check the operating notice before you go. Queues can build on weekends and holidays, especially in the late afternoon; weekday mornings are quietest.
The cable car suits most visitors, including children, and is wheelchair accessible, but anyone uncomfortable with heights should know the Mount Faber Line runs high above the harbour. Families can bundle it with Sentosa attractions such as the luge, and couples sometimes book the dining cabin experiences that run on the network. If budget matters, skip it and walk the boardwalk instead; if you want the view of the harbour that explains why Singapore became a great port, it is worth the ride.

Good questions
What does the Cable Car SkyPass include?+
A round trip on both the Mount Faber Line and the Sentosa Line, plus Sentosa island admission. Exchange the smartphone voucher for a ticket at a cable car counter before boarding.
Where should I board?+
Mount Faber for the full ride and the best views, or HarbourFront Tower 2 next to HarbourFront MRT and VivoCity for convenience.
Is it worth the price?+
As a scenic attraction, yes, especially at sunset. As transport, the monorail and the free boardwalk are far cheaper, so many visitors ride the cable car one way only.
Does the cable car ever close?+
Each line closes periodically for scheduled maintenance, typically for about a week, and service can pause in bad weather. Check the operator's notices before you go.
Is it scary?+
The Mount Faber Line runs high above the harbour, which some people find nerve-wracking, but the cabins are enclosed and the ride is smooth. The Sentosa Line is lower and shorter.
