Universal Studios Singapore opened in 2010 as part of Resorts World Sentosa and remains the only Universal theme park in Southeast Asia. It is compact by theme-park standards, laid out in a loop around a lagoon, with zones themed on Hollywood, New York, Sci-Fi City, Ancient Egypt, The Lost World, Far Far Away and Minion Land, the newest area, which opened in February 2025 with Despicable Me rides, shops and food. The big rides are strong. Battlestar Galactica: HUMAN vs CYLON are twin duelling coasters, one seated and one suspended, and the most intense rides in Singapore; Transformers: The Ride is a fast, 3D dark ride that many visitors rate the best attraction in the park; Revenge of the Mummy is an indoor coaster in the dark; and Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure is a big-boat river ride that will soak you. For younger children there are gentler rides in Far Far Away, Minion Land and the Lost World, plus shows and character meet-and-greets through the day. Because the park is relatively small, one full day covers everything, but the queues for the top rides can be long, especially on weekends, school holidays and festive periods. An Express Pass, which lets you skip the regular queue once per ride, turns a stressful day into a relaxed one and is worth considering on busy dates. Arrive before opening, head straight to the most popular ride, and save the shows and smaller rides for the afternoon.

The park sits at the heart of Resorts World Sentosa, next to the casino, the hotels and the new Singapore Oceanarium, so it fits easily into a Sentosa day or a short stay on the island. From the city, take the MRT to HarbourFront, walk into VivoCity and catch the Sentosa Express monorail to Resorts World station, which drops you a few minutes from the gate; or walk the free Sentosa Boardwalk from VivoCity in about fifteen minutes. Taxis and ride-hailing can drop you at the resort.

Plan the order. The coasters and Transformers draw the longest lines from late morning, so do them first or last. Jurassic Park Rapids is best in the afternoon heat, but you will get very wet, so carry a change of clothes or buy a poncho. Ride height limits apply on the bigger attractions, so families with young children should check them before buying an Express Pass. The park runs special seasonal events: Halloween Horror Nights in the autumn (separately ticketed, not suitable for children) and festive programmes around Christmas, which for 2026 runs from late November into early January with extra entertainment at Resorts World Sentosa. Food inside is themed and priced accordingly; there are more options at the resort just outside the gate.

Tickets are dated, and prices are higher on peak days. Booking in advance through a trusted reseller is usually simple and often slightly cheaper, and combination tickets with Gardens by the Bay or the Oceanarium are available. On a hot day, the indoor rides (Transformers, Mummy, Minion Land's attractions) are the place to be in the middle of the afternoon. If you have only one day on Sentosa and are not a theme-park family, the beaches, Sensoryscape and the Oceanarium may be a better use of it; but for teenagers and ride fans, this is the day they will talk about.
