Where to Stay in Jeddah

Where to stay in Jeddah: the waterfront Corniche, the airport-side hotels and a budget base in Al-Balad, with the best hotel for each style of trip.

Jeddah is a long, spread-out city, and the right hotel depends more on the atmosphere you want than on distance, because nearly everything is a taxi ride apart. Most visitors choose between the waterfront, the practical airport side of town and the old quarter.

The Corniche for sea views and resort facilities

The Corniche is Jeddah’s waterfront, and it is the best base for a leisure trip. Park Hyatt Jeddah is the splurge, on the southern Corniche in Al Hamra, with a beachfront setting, indoor and outdoor pools, a full spa, tennis courts and three restaurants. The Jeddah Hilton is on North Corniche Road in Ash Shati, about three minutes’ walk from the promenade, with 388 rooms, a private beach club and a diving centre. It is close to King Fahd’s Fountain and the Floating Mosque, so it suits a first visit well. One of its pools is listed as under renovation from October 2026 to September 2027, so ask which are open.

The airport side for value and ease

Crowne Plaza Jeddah Al Salam is on Prince Sultan Street, about fourteen minutes from the airport and connected to a shopping centre, with an outdoor pool, a spa and a 24-hour gym. Holiday Inn Jeddah Gateway is on Madinah Road in Al Nuzha, about fifteen minutes from the airport and a short walk from Mall of Arabia, with a rooftop terrace, a garden and a spa. Both are good-value choices for short stays, stopovers and families who prefer a reliable chain with free parking. They are not on the sea, but the Corniche is only a short drive away.

Al-Balad for atmosphere and budget

Lahdat Hotel Al Balad is in the old quarter itself, with Nasseef House about ten minutes’ walk away and Souq Al-Alawi about twelve. It is a simple, good-value hotel with free breakfast on the go, a 24-hour front desk and city-view rooms, and it lets you walk the lanes early in the morning or late in the evening. There is no on-site parking, so it suits guests using taxis and ride-share cars.

How to choose

For a honeymoon or a milestone trip, choose Park Hyatt. For a first-time Corniche stay with a beach club, choose the Jeddah Hilton. For value and airport access, choose Crowne Plaza or Holiday Inn. For heritage and budget, choose Lahdat Hotel Al Balad. If you plan the Taif day trip or an early boat departure, an airport-side hotel makes the morning easier.

Good to know

The mild season, from roughly November to March, is the busiest, so book as early as you can. Check what each rate includes, especially breakfast, which is charged separately on many bookings, and ask about parking if you plan to drive. Traffic can be heavy in the evening, so allow extra time for dinner reservations and transfers.

A note on transport

Without a car, you rely on taxis and ride-share cars, so choose a hotel where they are easy to find. Staying near the Corniche shortens the trip to the fountain, the mosque and the aquarium, while staying in Al-Balad shortens the trip to teamLab Borderless and the old-town sights.
