Premier Inn Doha Education City is the dependable budget choice, with the brand’s comfortable beds and consistent standards at a fraction of the price of central luxury hotels. It sits behind the Qatar National Convention Centre on Al Yass Street in Education City, the campus area west of the centre that is home to international universities, landmark architecture and the Qatar National Library, about a kilometre away. Rooms come as twins, doubles, family rooms and interconnecting family rooms, as well as accessible rooms. There is a swimming pool and a gym, both open from early morning to the evening, and Omnia Restaurant serves breakfast and all-day dining. Covered parking is free, subject to availability, and the Education City tram stop is about 200 metres away. Hamad International Airport is around thirty minutes by car, and the Aspire Zone and the 3-2-1 museum are a short drive.
Living in it: it suits travellers on a budget, families who need connecting rooms and anyone with a car. The library, the Education City Mosque and Oxygen Park are close by.
Trade-offs: it is far from the souq and the Corniche, so expect a taxi or metro ride to the main sights, and the nearest metro station is a short drive away. There is no bar.
